I am a 23 year old female with asthma. I do not want to take medications but have heard that acupuncture may help. Is this true?

Acupuncture is a respected oriental art form. The procedure consists  of inserting needle into certain parts of the body. The oriental experts claim that acupuncture can cure many medical disorder including asthma. A few controlled trials have looked at the effects of acupuncture on asthma, and found that it does not do anything. Anyone who offers acupuncture as a treatment for asthma is committing a crime. The treatment of asthma is with pharmaceutical drugs. You may not like the drugs but if you want to live a long healthy life, I suggest you dump acupuncture. It is still an art-form looking for a disease it can cure.
